Thank you, Madam Vice President. We thank the members of
for their update. The conflict in Syria has caused
hundreds of thousands of victims that are missing millions
of displaced people and refugees and destroyed civilian infrastructure
and social ties.
The humanitarian, economic and social crisis
is getting worse every day.
The status quo has become unbearable for the millions of Syrians who
are still subject to gross violations and abuses of human rights.
The political process needs to be revived in line
with resolution 254 and legitimate aspirations of the Syrians.
Conditions for the safe,
voluntary and dignified return of refugees should be established.
Progress on accountability is vital for a viable peace through justice,
social reconciliation and sustainable settlement.
On the other hand, the presence of
Daesh
and other terrorist groups is a threat to the regional peace and
stability as well as to the territorial unity and integrity of Syria.
S,
forced recruitment
and abuse of women and girls should not go unnoticed.
Neither should the situation in al
Hal
and Al
Roj
camps, which have become breeding grounds for radicalization, extremism
at the hands of terrorists.
Turkey will continue to stand by the people of Syria and strive
for a peaceful and lasting political resolution in line with UN Security Council
mandates.
Thank you.
