Es bastante insoportable ver a alguien con yesos en múltiples extremidades, fijador externo en múltiples extremidades, sin agua potable y casi sin líquidos intravenosos disponibles.”

- DECLARACIÓN (INGLÉS) – Dr. Richard Peeperkorn, Representante de la OMS en el Territorio Palestino Ocupado: “Más de 20,000 personas han sido asesinadas en las hostilidades en Gaza. Esto es en realidad casi el uno por ciento de toda la población. La OMS vuelve a pedir un alto el fuego humanitario. Esto es necesario ahora para reforzar y reabastecer las instalaciones de salud restantes, brindar servicios médicos necesarios a miles de personas heridas y aquellas que necesitan atención esencial, y sobre todo, detener el derramamiento de sangre y la muerte.”

- DECLARACIÓN (INGLÉS) – Sean Casey, Coordinador de Equipos Médicos de Emergencia de la OMS: “Lo que se consideraría amputaciones innecesarias en el resto del mundo donde hay capacidad para salvar extremidades, donde hay capacidad ortopédica, donde hay capacidad vascular, eso no está allí. No hay cirugías en este momento en el norte de Gaza. Y de hecho, muchos de los pacientes que vi ayer necesitarán amputación si y cuando puedan acceder a atención quirúrgica.”

Cada persona con la que hablo, en todas partes a las que voy en Gaza, tiene hambre. El momento es ahora. Estamos tratando con personas hambrientas ahora, adultos, niños. Es insoportable. En todas partes a las que vamos, la gente está pidiendo incluso en el hospital, camino por el departamento de emergencias, alguien con una herida abierta sangrante, con una fractura abierta, piden comida.”
