“Ce vendredi marque trois mois depuis que six de nos collègues au Yémen ont été arrêtés par les autorités de facto ‘Ansar Allah’,” a-t-elle déclaré.
“Les six membres du personnel des droits de l'homme de l'ONU – deux femmes et quatre hommes – ont été arrêtés le 6 juin avec sept autres membres du personnel de l'ONU. Deux membres du personnel des droits de l'homme de l'ONU et deux collègues d'autres agences de l'ONU ont été détenus par les autorités de facto depuis 2021 et 2023 respectivement, portant le nombre de membres du personnel de l'ONU détenus arbitrairement au Yémen à 17,” a déclaré Shamdasani.
“Encore une fois, le Haut-Commissaire exige leur libération immédiate et inconditionnelle, ainsi que la libération de tous les travailleurs des droits de l'homme et humanitaires arrêtés et détenus de la même manière sans protections juridiques,” a déclaré le porte-parole.
“Nous appelons également les autorités de facto à Sanaa à faciliter plutôt qu'à entraver les entités de l'ONU et autres acteurs des droits de l'homme et humanitaires dans leurs efforts pour servir le peuple yéménite, y compris pour la promotion et la protection de leurs droits de l'homme,” a-t-elle déclaré.

Rights experts call for end to impunity for Israel’s violations of international law
Four independent human rights experts have jointly called for the international community to sanction Israel’s conduct of hostilities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory as well as in the wider Middle East region - including in Syria, Lebanon and Iran.
